Food Safe Epoxy Resins

The short answer is, yes. Once Pro Marine Supplies
Table Top Epoxy has cured it becomes safe, per FDA code, 21CFR175.300 which states “Resinous and polymeric coatings may be safely used as the food-contact surface of articles intended for use in producing, manufacturing, packing, processing, preparing, treating, packaging, transporting, or holding food” and can be used as a “functional barrier between the food and the substrate” and “intended for repeated food-contact use”.

FDA-Approved Epoxy Resins

Here is the exact link from the FDA:

Our epoxy is VOC-Free. A VOC (Volatile Organic Chemical) is a solvent that gets released into the air as the epoxy cures. Some Epoxy contains cheap fillers or diluents, which are included to make the product cheaper, which would cause VOC’s to emit into the air or in water. Popular products that emit solvents include adhesives, cleaning supplies, and even some furnishings in your home. While using these VOCs, sometimes they can cause symptoms, including headaches and dizziness, so it is important to use an epoxy that is free of these solvents.

Keep in mind that the epoxy surface is not antimicrobial, and will still have to be disinfected after uses that include serving or eating food.
